“Save City 616!“

The picture above gives you an idea of what the Greensboro Grub is all about.  Each month we invite 60 strangers into our home for food, fun and a wonderful opportunity to get to know one another. Convinced that we should continue our efforts in the city to bring racial diversity and community to a divided city, when posed with a choice to buy the building or move out... we decided to buy.  We have since run into several financial potholes and have “broken an axle!” We need to raise $58,000 in 45 days that will allow us to continue here without selling the building. The money raised will be soley for mortgage payments on the building for the next year as we work on various income producing opportunities. 


Almost nine years ago, we (Charlie & Ruth Jones) moved to Greensboro, NC. We had 20 years of touring theatre behind us and looked forward to settling down in a community and making friends. What God did is amazing. We moved into an apartment (3rd floor of vintage hotel) that is 5000 sq. ft. We have used this space to bring our citizens together for love, understanding and friendship. It has been amazing at what has happened.
